Table Tennis Equipment
Table tennis, otherwise known as ping pong, offers forth little in the area of table tennis equipment. But for what table tennis equipment that is readily available, each is specialized to cater for the type of player you are. Please note, if you are only just beginning to learn the sport, or perhaps you've purchased a table for your basement or garage, then there are a few things you should be aware of.

When it comes to blades & rubbers, each come with different ratings and speeds. Selecting a blade depends on the individual and their playing style. Basically, theirs a different blade for each different method of table tennis. If you play a game where your predominant strategy is to attack, then you would use a faster speed blade. However, some players like to play a coy game of control. Like a trap-door spider waiting for it's pray...these players wait for a mistake, so they can then pounce on their opponent. A patient, yet deadly player like this would use a medium speed blade. But for the novice beginner, I would just jump online and buy a standard blade and rubber from your table tennis equipment store, until you get a feel for the game and understand the little nuances that are part and parcel of the sport of table tennis.
The rubbers for the paddles, or blades, also come in a variety. Some players opt to use different rubbers for their back hands and forehands. As a beginner, you need to get a feel for the game before you can start experimenting. Different rubbers allow you more velocity, control, bounce, spinning ability and durability. My advice to a beginner learning the ropes of table tennis would be to speak to someone in charge at your local sporting goods store and find the affordable and right fit blades and rubbers to begin with. After mastering the sport, then it is time to step up to the next level.
